The
then Ladies / Gents Dormitories and Administrative Blocks were
dismantled and new Platinum Jubilee Blocks together with Bathing
Centre have been constructed at a cost of 87 lakhs which can comfortably
accommodate 175 aged destitutes and 50 orphan children.
Late Sri G. M.C. Balayogi, Hon'ble Speaker,
Loksabha Inaugurated P.J. Blocks on 17-1-99 in the presence
of a distinguished gathering. The Bathing center with hot water
facilities with over 10 rooms has been commissioned.
MODERN SICK BLOCKS FOR MEN AND WOMEN It is a fact that most of the Inmates are aged between 60 to 90 years and the average age may be taken as 72 years as a result of which at least 50 of the Inmates are always sick and require constant medical treatment and nursing care. We have thought it fit to construct two separate dedicated Blocks for men and Women with a Nurse's station estimated to cost 30 lakhs to take care of the sick with furniture specially designed for the purpose whose estimated cost is around 4 lakhs. Each Block can accommodate 18 sick residents to give constant medical attention and nursing care. It is gratifying to note that philanthropic NRI's Shri Shivakumar Prabhat and Dr. Srinivasa prasad from U.S.A. have each contributed Rs. Ten lakhs for the two Blocks. SPECIAL HOSPICE We
have constructed a special Hospice estimated to cost 4 lakhs with
2 separate wards for two men and two women to take care of the
terminally ill. Each ward has an independent bathroom and we propose
to put one attendant to look after the Hospice. It is gratifying
to note that Shri. S. Suryanarayana Setty, our Vice President
and Engineer has already donated Rs. 2 lakhs for this project. |
